Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)

This Privacy Policy explains how VARYN VIVID (operator of ORVIT) collects, uses, discloses, and processes personal data when you use our services.

Article 2 (How We Use Personal Data)

1. Service Provision: Providing astrology features such as natal chart generation, compatibility analysis, and archetype analysis, and business networking features (recommendations, connections, messaging).

2. Account Management: Creating and managing accounts, verifying identity, preventing fraud, and enforcing policies.

3. Safety and Security: Detecting abuse, spam, and fraud; handling reports and blocks; maintaining platform safety.

4. Service Improvement: Analyzing usage, debugging, maintaining and improving the Service.

5. Marketing (Optional): With your opt-in consent where required, sending promotional communications (e.g., events, offers).

6. Legal Compliance: Complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests.

Article 3 (Personal Data We Collect)

1. Information You Provide: email, password, name/nickname, date of birth; optional time of birth and place of birth; customer support messages.

2. Automatically Collected: IP address, device identifiers, OS, app version, usage logs, crash reports, cookies or similar technologies (where applicable).

3. Location Data (if permitted): approximate or precise location derived from your device, used only for location-based networking features when enabled. When location is enabled, we may calculate and display approximate distance indicators (e.g., "within X km") to other users within your visibility range. Your exact coordinates (latitude/longitude) are never shown to other users. If you disable location permissions, we stop collecting location data and distance indicators are no longer displayed.

4. Information Visible to Other Users: When you use our networking and astrology features, certain information may be visible to other users, including:

  - Your nickname (or display name) and profile information you choose to share;

  - Your Star-Type and selected astrology insights;

  - Your one-liner introduction on the Align (connections) tab;

  - Approximate distance indicators, if you have enabled location-based networking;

  - Users you connect with as friends may view mutual chemistry (compatibility) analysis results;

  - Users you are recommended to on the Align tab may see your nickname, Star-Type, and approximate distance.

  Sensitive personal data such as your exact birth time, birth location, email address, or precise coordinates are never disclosed to other users.

Article 4 (Legal Bases for Processing)

If you are in the EEA/UK, we process personal data under: (i) performance of a contract, (ii) legitimate interests, (iii) consent, and/or (iv) compliance with legal obligations. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing).

Article 5 (Retention)

- Account data: retained until you delete your account

- Service usage logs: up to 3 years

- Customer support records: up to 1 year after resolution

- Location data: processed only as needed for the location feature and stopped when disabled; retained only for the minimum period necessary for the stated purpose and then deleted or de-identified

Article 6 (Sharing and Disclosure)

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following ways:

Other Users: When you use our networking features, certain profile information and astrology insights are shared with other users as described in Article 3(4) above. Users you connect with or are matched with may view your profile, Star-Type, and compatibility analysis. If you enable location-based networking, approximate distance indicators may be visible to other users within your configured range. If you disable location permissions or adjust visibility settings, we limit or stop sharing distance-based indicators and networking suggestions accordingly.

Service Providers:

- Backend/Database/Authentication: Supabase

- Analytics: Google Analytics (Alphabet Inc.)

Legal and Safety: We may disclose data to comply with law, protect safety, enforce policies, or in connection with business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition).

Article 7 (International Data Transfers)

Personal data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Article 8 (Your Privacy Rights)

Article 9 (Additional Regional Information)

- EEA/UK: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

- Japan: Additional cross-border transfer notices may be provided as required.

- United States: State-specific rights honored as required by law.

Article 10 (Security)

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data. No security measures are perfect.

Article 11 (Children)

The Service is not intended for children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child without valid consent, we will delete it.

Article 12 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified through the Service. The Effective Date above indicates when this Policy was last updated.
